Take a picture of the subject you are going to quill, in this case a Bird of Paradise Flower.
With your
computer print 2 images side by side. In my case I used the 5x7” size. However,
when printed they came one on top of the other. I take this step because I
found that it is easier for me to quill on one picture and use the other one to
look at the details.
Make sure
that you measure the actual size of your images that came from your
printer. In my case each of my flower’s
image came out as 3.5x5” and with the background a total of 4.25x7”.
On the print
that you are going to use as your “work template”, mark the outline of a rectangle,
the size you will be using for your card.
To make
things clearer, mark the petals’ outline on one of the images.
Cover your
images with an acetate sheet, plastic of your choice (in my case I used a sheet
protector), or waxed paper to use for working on it.
Begin
working.
For this
project I used all 3mm wide paper strips of different lengths and colors.
I worked one
flower at a time by filling all the spaces with the necessary shapes.
I used
teardrops, marquises, and wheaters.
Once you
finished quilling your flower, very carefully lift it and glue it on the
background you are going to use for your card.
Congratulations!
You successfully finished your project!
