SANTA CLAUS

All the paper strips will be 3 mm wide but of different colors and lengths

For this ornament you will be making a face with facial features (a beard, eyes, a mouth, and a moustache), and a hat with pompons.

The picture shows the basic materials needed/

 

However, to help myself for the face, I also used a mini-mold. This is optional.

FACE

1. Roll a flesh/pale peach 80 cm into a tight circle 2 cm in diameter.

2. Shape it into a grape roll. I used a mini mold to help me. However, you can use your fingers, a small bouncing ball, a marble, or anything that is in the shape of a sphere.

3. Once you have the grape shape, apply glue inside so that it will not come apart.

I let it dry overnight. Next morning it should look like this.

 

 

FACIAL FEATURES

EYES

Roll 2 blue 10 cm long strips into tight circles.

NOSE

Roll a red 5 cm long red strip into a tight circle.

MOUTH

Roll a red 10 cm long strip into a tight circle.

MOUSTACHE

Roll 2 bright white 7.5 cm long strips into teardrops.

Glue the teardrops facing each other, according to the picture above.

HAIR AND BEARD

Roll 50 bright white 10 cm long loose circles. 

You will glue these circles once you completed the face with all its facial features.

HAT AND POMPONS

HAT

Roll a red 65 cm long strip into a loose circle 2 cm in diameter.

Shape it into a long triangle.

POMPONS

Roll 5 bright white10 cm long strips into loose circles.

Glue 4 circles to the bottom/brim of the hat and one to the top. 

 

Now you are ready to put everything together.

ASSEMBLY

1.   Glue the moustache under the nose. 
 

 2. Glue the mouth under the moustache

3.  Glue the assembled mouth, moustache, and nose to the face.

 

Make sure that the nose is on top of the center hole of the face

4. Glue the eyes to the face, position them to either side of the nose and that they are on top of the nose

  

5.  Glue the hat to the head so that the white trim is touching the forehead

Now you are going to glue the hair and the beard. 

6.   Glue the first layer of loose circles around the head

7. Glue the second layer on top of the first layer and around the mouth. 

Congratulations!!!! You have finished your project.
