Blue and yellow bird

Hello my friends and fellow Quillers!
Today’s bird was inspired by a picture that I found while surfing the internet. The original was made by Anna Amoui

I liked the bird so much that I decided to try to quill it myself. I changed the techniques that she used and this is my rendition.

First I printed the original picture and then I blew up the bird part. I quilled the different shapes and glued them onto the printed picture.

My project ended being an 8”x10” (20 cm x 25 cm) picture. I used all 1/8” (3 mm) wide strips of different lengths and colors.

Here are pictures of the process I followed

I hope that these pictures helped you.

Birds - Indian Roller

Good morning my fellow Quillers!

Today I want to introduce to you the newest addition to my quilled bird family.

I saw this Indian Roller in one of the internet sites and fell in love with its majesty.

My rendition is a 7.5”x5.5” (18 cm x 13.5 cm) bird.

I enjoyed making it because it has my favorite technique: wheatears and … it was easy to do. I finished it in only 2 days!

I enlarged the internet's picture to a 10"x8" (20 cm x 25 cm)   size and then I glued the shapes on it.

Here you can see details of the different body parts as I quilled the shapes and then  filled them in.

I hope that these pictures were useful.
